All my life I've been a writer at heart. I fell in love with the English language as soon as I could read and write. I began by writing fiction. "Jean the Best Girl Hockey Player Ever" was one of my earliest recognized works (I won student of the day and was in the newspaper!). I believe I was the only kid in class who enjoyed writing book reports.
Skip ahead a few years and I've graduated from the Advertising Program at Algonquin College, where my writing found a new outlet in slogans, headlines, web content, and journalism.
Throughout my young career I've had the opportunity to use my skill and flair for language in freelance projects for a wide variety of both local and international clients. You will find pieces in my portfolio from diverse sectors such as travel and tourism, real estate, fitness and nutrition, education and technology, and not-for-profit. I've learned to speak well for a brand, distilling information into its most concise form while capturing the tone provided by the client. Over the years I've become adept at writing and planning social media. I've learned the key principles of SEO, public relations, and become a strong project manager.
I love being part of the vibrant marketing community in Ottawa - my favourite city in the world - and love meeting new people. On any given day you might find me typing away in a coffee shop, jogging down the Rideau Canal pathway, sipping a craft beer at one of the many great pubs in town, or scouring the shelves for my next great read at the Ottawa Public Library.
